Library Cards
How Do I get a Princeton Public Library card?
To pick up a physical library card at any branch all you need is to provide an ID and proof of your current address and you will receive your library card immediately.
Apply for an eCard and use it online today!
An eCard is a CW MARS library card that you can register for online to access electronic materials, such as ebooks, audiobooks, magazines, and databases. The eCard is for patrons who do not already have a CW MARS library card and may be upgraded to a physical library card with borrowing privileges by visiting your local library and providing proof of address.
Can I use my library card on the day I apply?
Yes! You may have up to 50 items checked out on your card at a time.
Can I give my library card to a friend or family member to use for themselves?
No. You are responsible for everything checked out on your card and if the items are not returned you will be held responsible for them.
How can I renew my items?
Items that are eligible to be renewed will automatically renew on the due date. If you have an email address on file you will be notified of the renewals with an email notification. Patrons can also log into their account to view the status of all checked out items.
Can I have someone else pick up my holds for me?
Someone else must have your library card in order to pick up items being held in your name. Alternately, you may come into the library and give permission for certain people to pick up your holds. Without one of these, staff members are unable to give your hold to another individual.
If I forget my PIN number what should I do?
A PIN number gives you access to your own library card account. Your PIN number can be reset when you try to access your account or come into the library with your library card and photo ID and staff at a service desk can help you. You may also reset your pin online.
What happens if I forget my Library card?
You may use a photo ID at the circulation desk if you forget your card.
